Council will collect recycling bins on alternate weeks - one week we will collect your Blue-lidded recycling bin and following week we will collect your Yellow-lidded recycling bin. For those living in apartment blocks, both types of recycling bins are collected each week.

Collection takes place on the same day as your garbage removal, and Council has developed a Calendar to show Recycling Bin Collection Weeks. Click here for information on what can be recycled in Lane Cove.

For questions about recycling services including missed services, new or replacement bins contact the Waste Solutions Hotline. Missed services should be reported after 3pm on the day of scheduled collection to 1300 655 006.

**Please do not place plastic bags in your recycling bin**

Composting and Worm Farming

On average, 40% of garbage sent to land fill is food waste.

You can make a difference by composting your food scraps or by using a worm farm.

Lane Cove residents can purchase compost bins and worms directly from Council and can also participate in one of our regular composting

and worm farming workshops. Click here for more information.

E-waste

E-waste is defined as waste from electronic equipment. This includes computers, monitors, televisions, printers, video players etc.

The Federal Government's National Television Computer Recycling Scheme will be introduced in 2012. Future events will be planned based on the outcomes of the scheme. For more information about the scheme, visit National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme.
